Ingrid Hakanson began her career in electronic music in 2000 when a friend handed her a microphone during a party in Vancouver, BC. Since then, Ingrid has made a name for herself in Vancouver as one of the area’s first live improvisational vocalists in the house music scene.
Music has always been a part of Ingrid’s life. Growing up in Toronto, she played piano, saxophone, and sang classical both in a choir and solo. In 1996, Ingrid spent 4 years fronting a Vancouver rock band before becoming part of a group called Bedroom Studio that blended jazz, and rock releasing an album called “Submissions” in 2005. Since then, Ingrid has been working with electronic music producers from around the world, releasing tracks in several different genres. Ingrid now does her own DJ performances along with her live vocals while continuing live performances with other DJs as well. With a broad taste in musical styles, she is always ready to tailor her performance to fit the mood of the party and to the feel of the crowd.
